タイ王国、マヒドン大学ラマティボディ病院医学部（Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi
Hospital, Mahidol University）所属の理学療法士 Petchanok Sukpanpradi 氏と作業療法士 Bordin Chaiyo 氏より、日本理学療法士協会・国際事業部を通じて、日本の臨床現場におけるリハビリテーションの見学実習を希望する依頼がありました。本学理学療法学科・国際交流委員会で受け入れを行い、済生会前橋病院、公立藤岡総合病院、石井病院の3施設に協力を依頼し、群馬県内での実習を調整いたしました。
お二人は11月1日から30日までの1か月間日本に滞在され、そのうち11月4日～23日に群馬県内で各施設の研修に参加しました。見学実習に加えて、スタッフとの交流を通じて多くの学びが得られたとの感想をいただいています。休暇を利用して観光だけでなく学びを目的に来日されたお二人の姿勢には、私たちも大きな刺激を受けました。
各施設の先生方にはご多忙の中ご対応いただき、心より感謝申し上げます。私自身もゲストとともに施設を訪問し、両国の医療の違いなどについて話し合う中で、多くの示唆を得ることができました。施設のスタッフからも「良い刺激になった」との声を多く頂戴しています。最後には「次はタイで再会を」と互いに約束を交わし、温かい形で実習を終えることができました。
今後も本学理学療法学科は、国際的な視点を育む取り組みを継続し、交流の機会をさらに広げてまいります。

Mr. Petchanok Sukpanpradi, a physical therapist, and Mr. Bordin Chaiyo, an occupational therapist from the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University (Thailand), expressed their wish—through the International Affairs Division of the Japanese Physical Therapy Association—to participate in a clinical observation program in Japan. Our Department of Physical Therapy welcomed their request through the International Exchange Committee and coordinated placements at three facilities within Gunma Prefecture: Saiseikai Maebashi Hospital, Fujioka General Hospital, and Ishii Hospital.
The two guests stayed in Japan for one month from November 1 to 30. Of this period, they trained at the cooperating facilities in Gunma from November 4 to 23. They shared that the program provided extensive learning opportunities not only through clinical observations, but also through interactions with the staff. Their proactive attitude—coming to Japan not only for sightseeing during their vacation, but also with a strong desire to learn—was truly inspiring for all of us.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the staff at each facility for their generous support despite their busy schedules. Accompanying the guests to several facilities allowed me personally to gain valuable insights through discussions regarding differences in healthcare systems between our two countries. Many staff members also commented that the exchange was “a positive and stimulating experience.” The program concluded warmly, with a mutual promise: “Next time, let’s meet in Thailand.”
Our Department of Physical Therapy will continue to foster international perspectives and expand opportunities for global exchange.
