2021年1月9日に行ったOnline交流のお相手は、フランクフルト在住の保険会社アナリストのドイツ人、日本語講師の日本人ご夫妻です。本学からは医療情報、社会福祉、健康栄養、看護、薬、子ども教育、そして生物生産学科からの学生が参加し、手を挙げた卒業生も含めて、12名でした。今回のテーマは、「ドイツの医療、教育、食農について」メディアの視点で、また、「日本人の目で見たドイツ」を、文化、生活の身近なところからご夫妻にお話しいただき、その後フリーディスカッションと進みました。現在の世界的なパンデミック下、ドイツでは、州によって規制があり、例えば、マスクをしていない人、あるいは鼻まで覆っていない等、きちんとかけていないと40ユーロの罰金を払うことになるそうです。しかし、国の対策に対して、83％の国民がちょうど良い、またはもっと強化すべきと考えており、首相の支持率は高いとの事でした。その他、教育、食農についてもドイツの文化背景とともにお話しいただきました。ドイツでは肉の販売の際、広いところで放牧されて育ったものなのか、またエサは何なのか等の飼育レベルを表示しないといけないという法律があるそうで、健康栄養、生物生産学科の学生のみならず、消費者目線でも興味深い内容だと感じました。今回は多学科の学生参加で、幅広い内容について、多くの質問が上がり、明日にでもドイツに行きそうな勢いでしたが、初めて参加した学生からは、Online故の気軽さや、他学科、他学年の人たちとの交流ができて嬉しかったとの声がありました。今後も皆さんからのフィードバックを得ながら、国際交流の方法を考えていきたいと思います。

On January 9, 2021, we held an international online Zoom event titled “Medical care, education, food and agriculture in Germany from the media perspective”, and “Germany seen through the eyes of a Japanese” led by a German analyst and his wife fluent in the Japanese language. From our university, 12 participants from the department of Healthcare Informatics, Social Welfare, Nutrition, Nursing, Pharmacy, Child Education, Applied Biological Sciences and graduates attended the activity. The presentation was conducted from the cultural and lifestyle perspective of the couple, followed by a free discussion. In Germany, under the current global pandemic, each state has its own regulations. For example, if a person does not wear a mask or does not cover his or her nose properly, he or she will be fined 40 euros. However, 83% of the people think that the government’s measures are just fine or should be strengthened, and the Prime Minister’s approval rating is high. They also talked about education, food and agriculture, as well as the cultural background of Germany. When selling meat in Germany, there is a law that requires the meat to be labeled with the level of animal husbandry, such as whether it was raised in a large pasture or not, and what kind of feed was used. It was meaningful to hear various kinds of questions on a wide range of topics raised by students and it seemed as if we would be going to Germany tomorrow. Moreover, students who participated for the first time said that they were happy to be able to interact with people from other departments and grades because of the ease of the online format. We will continue to think of ways to promote international exchange while getting feedback from everyone.
